While most of the work is near completion, the lawn has yet to establish a healthy growth pattern and thus to avoid permanent damage we must continue to prevent public foot traffic on the lawn areas. This has necessitated a delay in the September 29th reopening of Christie Park. Together with the City of Emeryville, we are alerting the public of the event cancellation.
While we are disappointed, we are also confident that Christie Park will be a treasured public space when it does open later this fall. The Park warrants an opening commensurate with the treasure that it will be and we look forward to an opening event with the City of Emeryville when Christie Park is fully ready to shine.
In the meantime, we look forward to the new tenant openings at Public Market. We’ve also recently installed a new A/V projection system in the Food Hall and welcome folks to enjoy fall sports and other entertainment at Public Market.
